Moriarty Church of Christ
Who are we?
At Moriarty Church of Christ, we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Savior, and the foundation of our faith. Our mission is to spread the gospel to all, sharing the message of salvation through His grace and truth. We are committed to living in His love and obedience, growing as His disciples, and serving our community with compassion and humility. Through worship, teaching, and fellowship, we strive to glorify God and bring others into a closer relationship with Him.
We are not a Denomination...
Moriarty Church of Christ is not interested in man-made creeds, but simply in the New Testament pattern. The term "church of Christ" is a descriptive term indicating that the church belongs to Christ. It is in Matthew 16:18 that Jesus says: "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
Based Upon the Bible...
It is our belief that only Christ has the authority to say what the church is and what we should teach. We do not add or take away from the Bible for the Lord says: "Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you." -Deuteronomy 4:2
Emphasis on Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We emphasize baptism as a command of Christ. The New Testament teaches baptism as an act which proclaims your faith in Jesus our Savior to the rest of the world. For Jesus said: "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." -Mark 16:16

Similarly we are supposed to honor Jesus in his sacrifice with the New Covenant He made with us. This is with the Lord's Supper that we do EVERY week. "For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes." -1 Corinthians 11:24-26 & Acts 20:7
